Well, I have been busy rewriting my site. Five pages so far. It seems Google's version of duplicate content and mine. Didn't match. I kept reading about it and made sure my content was different, even down to part of the description of the dresses. But it seems that wasn't enough for Google. After wondering why I was getting a very small number of visitors I thought I would go straight to the horses mouth and ask Google. After all I had followed their advice to the tea. So into Google's blog I go. just about to post when I am asked by the well set up blog, have you checked the FAQ's? No, so I start typing "no traffic", the first thing that comes up is a guy with the same problem. Someones answer is he has too much duplicate content. So I run a program that checks for that. Whoah! Will you look at that, it even matches the content of my old site! So even though I had made changes, it was not enough. So Google's definition was even tighter than mine. Whoops! Re writing needed!!!!
All this could have been avoided if Google had given a good description of duplicate content. I wonder how many other potential millionaires ave been stopped dead in their tracks? Another blog I have has a combination of old love poems and links to great Tango sites. Again I thought this would break it up enough, but it looks like it doesn't. What a shame. A lot of good Tango sites will not be found.
Hint, when using products from affiliate sites. Change everything, re write the lot!!!!!!
